We were all called into a back office/storage room one by one. When we got there we were told that we were getting a gift based on our performance evaluation scores. Given that everybody in the department got shit scores this year I started chuckling in front of my boss, and her boss, when she said that. Probably not the most appropriate reaction, but it was honest. Yeah, we got the bare minimum, which in this case is a very nice raincoat, but given the scores I was expecting something like a smack in the head...

man first thing i said when i got into the back office was am i fired?
wich took the bosslady by surprise... apparently she hasnt noticed people get sacked when she takes them to the back office without explanation

Whenever a higher up says “we need to chat” without any other context, I about poop myself. As such, I try to never do that to others.

Since most of the people at my company do not work in the office, any meeting (usually at a hotel conference room) where you are told to bring your laptop is the end.
